Brooklyn Museum  (New York City, New York, United States)
Read about "one of the largest museum collections in the United States", with holdings ranging from ancient Egyptian to contemporary art. The Decorative Arts collection, mainly American, dates from the 17th century to the present and includes some glass and ceramics. One gallery of the new Center for Feminist Art, when completed, will permanently house Judy Chicago’s The Dinner Party. This famous banquet installation features 39 "china-painted" table settings. The table itself sits on a floor of 2,304 triangular porcelain tiles carrying the names of notable women. Use the Education Index to locate images of the original 2002 installation.
